Aykiz Dogan is a teaching assistant (ATER) and PhD candidate in sociology at the University of Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Institute of Development Studies (IEDES).

She obtained her bachelor’s degree in economics and followed master’s courses in media and cultural studies in Ankara, Turkey (Universities of Ankara, Bilkent and Hacettepe). She acquired eight years of work experience in management, financial markets, and market research as an economist before investing in an academic career. She holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Paris-8. Her research interests include international political sociology, economic sociology, sociology of expertise, and historical sociology. Her PhD studies under the supervision of Roser Cusso (University of Paris-1, Professor of sociology), focus on the role of international actors and expertise in the Turkish state-making during the interwar period. She also collaborates with Frédéric Lebaron (ENS-Cachan, Professor of sociology) on a long-term project on central banking and bankers producing various publications. She is a member of the working group organising International Political Sociology (IPS) seminars in France. She has research experience in various projects financed by French and American authorities and teaching experience in sociology and political sciences at the Universities of Paris-1, Paris-8, Paris-13 and Paris-Est as well as the Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
